Thank and Grow Rich – Day 16

Trees with blue sky and clouds in the background. Tallest tree appears to be decades old.
Trees near my office with such perfect late day sunlight on them. Sigh.

  3. Relaxed Shoulders

Relaxing my shoulders is a new thing for me. I recently have begun to occasionally ask myself: “Are your shoulders raised and tense?” Quite often the answer is yes.

Turns out, this is a sign that I’m carrying something with me that I don’t need to be. Stress, anxiety, lack of awareness…lots of things pop up. But the simple act of asking, recognizing, then releasing my shoulders has given me a tool for the rest of me as well.

It has become a good way for me to look at and evaluate what I’m doing. Am I trying to control something that hasn’t happened or already happened and either way I have zero chance of controlling it? Relax the shoulders.

And sometimes you come around the corner of the kitchen and see sights that relax the shoulders immediately. No prompt required.
